Thought I would just post here... I was d/c from my chap. 7 bankruptcy in 2/13. I am married but only filed in my name. Therefore, my husband was not included in the bk. The house (deed, mortgage, note) were only in my name when we bought the house. My mortgage was included in my bankruptcy and never reaffirmed.

Which leads me to today. As of now, my credit is great. I had an FHA mortgage. I could not get a mortgage in my name only because my dbt to income ratio was too high.

My husband works for a bank and in the past did mortgages so he's really familiar with the process. Just yesterday, he got a pre approval from a company called "First Guarantee Mortgage Corporation". They require a ton of documentation, but luckily we always kept our stuff in order.

The thing with the 3 year lookback period after a bk is negotiable. Some banks are more conservative, such as Wells Fargo. Some banks/companies, it can be as little as 2 years.
