I started weaning myself off of pain meds Saturday because they were making me feel so awful. I'm happy to report that I'm down to three meds plus vitamins, and on the heavy duty paid meds I'm only taking about 25% of what I was taking previously. Surprisingly, I'm in less pain now than before I had my surgery! Woo-hoo! God is good!

An interesting note - I have been getting headaches, even on pain meds! Dr. told me to take iron supplements every day because of blood loss during surgery (normal) - I use an isotonic multi-vitamin with iron and within about 20 minutes of taking it, my headache goes away. Did a little reading, and it turns out that Iron helps your blood carry oxygen to the brain!! Who knew? But I digress...

The sun is shining and it's supposed to warm up to 38 degrees today, so I'm hoping that when it peaks I will have enough energy to go for a walk around the block, he-he-he. DH is back at work after taking such good care of me, working from home last week, but he's already called to check on me this morning. What a sweetie!!

DD moved back in on Saturday, which will make including her in our BK easier. It's such a difficult job market for her and many others right now. She has put out tons of applications/resumes and been on several interviews. It seems for every interview they are actually interviewing anywhere from 20 to 30 people for a minimum wage job - and only offering 8-10 hours a week!!! Crazy. We feel blessed to have her back home, and her teeny-tiny little puppy - 3.4 pounds fully grown with the big name Mo-Jo-Bojangles lol. My middle-aged dog, Trixie, loves playing with him, and he really perks her up and causes her to be more active.

DD and I are hoping I will feel strong enough to go for a drive this week - it's supposed to be mid forties by Thursday. Maybe drive to one of the islands and look around. I've been sick since we moved here in October, so I really haven't done any exploring at all. It's hard to believe that we've been here three months and I haven't done any of those things that make it feel like my home! Maybe in a few weeks I can start looking for some volunteer work too, back in CA I was so plugged into my community, with 3 or 4 service jobs I was routinely involved in - it's weird that I've just been sitting here on my duff, so self-involved, not participating in life!

Okay, I'm just rambling now, sorry! I am feeling so surrounded by grace I can't even express it.
