Has anyone used this before? Did it work? I’m really only worried about Heights finance calling me at work.

I would have loved to hear the outcome to this story.

    What ended up happening?

replied to Collections Calls - Wrong Person
I have received numerous collection calls for the wrong person over the years.

I always tell them they have the wrong person, but that rarely gets them to stop calling.

So, I follow up with a simple cease and desist communications letter telling them they are calling the...

    Cheap Laundry Soap

You can make your own laundry detergent at home using baking soda, borax, and a ground up bar of laundry soap, mix it together in a closed plastic container, and I have tried it and it works great in my washing machine. And it is great for sensitive skin because there are no added dyes or perfumes...

Just reading that quote from the sheriff makes me think about all the bluffs I have heard from debt collectors over the years. My guess is that if this person had filed a claim of exemption, he or she would have been given the exemption amount from the proceeds of the auction. Old cars like this one...

Yes, I have been to America's Best in the past, and I got the eye exam plus two pairs of glasses (same prescription, same style of frames, lenses, coatings, etc.) for about $89 with taxes included, and I liked them, too.

They will try to upsell you to more expensive frames and lenses,...

  • Yes! My old DVD player finally stopped working, so I got a new one, and I was surprised to find out that it does indeed have wifi, so I can get onto website right from the comfort of my living room recliner and my big screen t.v. I do Amazon, because I can control how much I spend per month with it,...

  • I have an update, for those who have a smartphone and you also have wifi at home...

Go to Google Play and search for an app called Talkatone.

It's a free app that gives you a free phone number which allows you to do these things over wifi...

    1. Receive unlimited...

  • I made the jump to a smart phone, and if I am careful, using mainly wifi for internet surfing, etc., I only have to pay about $7 per month, pay as you go. I got a Tracfone Samsung Galaxy Centura from Radio Shack. It was on sale for $89. Plus the cost of the pay as you go card to activate it for 3...

    Cheap Eyeglasses

I never knew you could just order your own eyeglasses over the internet without going to an optometrist and getting a new prescription and then ordering the glasses from them or some brick and mortar place like Nationwide or Walmart.

My prescription hasn't changed in years. So, I just...

I am speaking from the experience that my uncle faced a similar situation and this is how he dealt with it.

He owed over $28,000 on a visa credit card. The Original Creditor sued him for it and got a default judgment against him. The very next year he received a 1099-C in the mail....

  • That is one of the beauties of renting vs. owning a home. I have never owned a home, and I never intend to own one.

And if something goes wrong with the house, I complain to the landlord and it's his responsibility to fix it. And whenever I feel like it, once a lease has expired, I'm...

  • Weird product description at Walmart

One of my chihuahuas has been scratching her neck raw, and what worked in the past was dusting it with sulfur powder, so I went online looking for it, and here is what I found at Walmart:

"Sometimes associated with hell and the devil, Sulfur, or Brimstone, is actually quite good...

  • Now that over 7 years have passed and my credit report is once again spotless, I have a new Visa credit card (with no annual fee!) that I am using very sparingly. I pay it off at the end of each month.

I agree. In my experience, you gain nothing from talking to debt collectors, but you will lose your temper by talking to them, and life is too short for that.

If it is a third party debt collector, I always send off a letter disputing the validity of the alleged debt, requesting written...

  • During the 7 long years after I defaulted on all my debts, I started using cash and money orders whenever possible, and for everything else, I tried to use the store gift cards because had no fees associated with them. For example, if I was going to buy something at Amazon, I went to a local grocery...

    I hate rain!

I am so used to it going for literally months without a drop of rain and nary a cloud in the sky, and now I wake up this morning to go on my morning walk to McDonalds to get my cup of coffee and watch the sun rise and the pigeons gather on the billboard across the street and then just as the sun rises...
