  • Taxes on surrendered home

I filed bankruptcy and surrendered my house - both mortgages were discharged. Because of the backlog of foreclosures in Maryland, I sold the home in a short sale. Am I responsible for federal and state taxes for this sale? I owed $180K on the first mortgage and $47K on the second. The house sold...

  • Thanks!!! I will knew this was some type of violation. They are definitely hard inquiries because I spoke with one of the credit reporting agencies as to why my score was decreasing. They explained it was the REL hard inquiries. I will start the dispute letter right away. Thanks sooo much!

    Mortgage Reporting on Credit Report

Before BK, there was a RELS Reporting Service that kept making hard inquiries on my credit report. I was told that they were from the mortgage company. Once I filed for BK, RELS stopped making hard inquires. After the discharge, I decided to do a short sale on my home (that was surrendered during...

When can I stop paying HOA?

I surrendered my house in chapter 7 last year, I moved out of the house before filing. As advised by my attorney, I continue to pay HOA dues. The foreclosure proceedings have begun and there is a sale date in a couple of weeks. When can I stop paying HOA dues?

The mortgage (the debt) has been discharged. However in my state the banks have to go through the foreclosure proceedings to get the tilte out of my name. They started the proceeding but stopped it. So technically the title is in my name and I owe nothing on the house. However, I can not sell it...

Thanks. I believe they should not have changed the locks before the place was properly dried out. Now that the property is almost unrepairable, they don't want anything to do with the property. And I will be stuck with all kinds of health violations and unable to sell it. This is a nightmare.

    Confused about foreclosure

I surrendered my house via ch7 bankruptcy. The mortgage was discharged and the bank started the foreclosure process when I first filed bk. A piped burst in the house about 4 monthes before I filed bk causing extnsive damage. I began repairs and in the middle of repairs, the bank changed the locks...

    Getting Car Insurance

Does anyone know of any company that will offer a reasonable quote post BK7 discharge? My car died and I was approved a new auto loan however I'm sure State Farm will not grant a new policy.

  • Cap1 approved me in less than two months after discharge. $3000 limit, no annual fee, 0% APR for the first year. I had a 0 balance (and a $24,000 credit limit) with them when I filed BK.

  • I had two mortgages before filing bankruptcy. The first bank agreed to a short sale. The second one did not. The second was charged off and discharged during the BK. I guess I can try to find a buyer on my own - since the first one agreed to a short sale before, I guess they will again (although...

    Mortgage during foreclosure process

OK- I've been discharged about a month ago and surrendered the house. I've been in foreclosure process for 4 months. I've been told by the bank that because the a piped had burst (about 8 months ago - I moved out of state and realtor never notified me) they (the bank) was not going to foreclose. ...

  • How do you remove court judgements from credit report?

I filed chapter 7 before a date in court and was told by my attorney not to appear for the hearing since I filed bankruptcy. Well the attorney's office forgot to add the debt to the filing and failed to send the court a notice of intent to file bankruptcy. A summary judgement was entered since I failed...

    Threat to Object to Discharge

So the attorney who threatened to file a motion to object has just entered a "Notice of Appearance" in PACER. Should I be worried? Will he actually file the motion?

I continued to pay on the credit card up to March, 2011. I filed in April. The $2500 was charged in 11/2010. There was no intent to file bankruptcy until deed-in-lieu negotiations failed in March. I understand your answer. We disputed charges and are waiting for credit card co. answer.

    Creditor Intent to Object

I filed chapter 7 in April, 341 went well. Shortly after 341 my lawyer said a creditor was intending to object to discharge and would settle for $5000 (the overall balance was $16000). They claimed that I charged $5000 in the 5 months before filing. I thought there was a 70/90 rule. In the 90 days...
