replied to can't get an apartment!
I'm in vermont- chittenden county, and it is competitive. Houses are 300k for 2 bedrooms, and apartments are 1,900 a month for a nice 2 bedroom. Dumps are 1200 a month. I guess have to stay in the house. I have just enough equity that if I sold now I'd have about 5k. If I stop paying I'll have about...

    can't get an apartment!

I initially wanted to keep my home following a separation and now soon to be a divorce. The separation forced me to file CH 7. However, now I'm regretting that I kept the house, and wish now I had sold the house, paid of my car, and then found an apartment for a few years, filing only after I got a...

Yes, it was and is soley in my name. We "found" it together and she lived there day one though.

I'm in VT, and judges have very broad discretion, and they excersise it. I was advised- a judge can do anything, by a attorney. Not sure if we are a community property state or not...

Neither of us are utilizing an attorney. She just wants 10k, doesn't care that their may not even be that much after selling costs. She initially added up all the mortgage payments for the last 5 years, divided by 2, and said I want that much, it's what I put in! it was 50k. This is what I'm up against......

    Bankruptcy, divorce, my home

Ready for a complicated situation? I received my discharge about a month ago. I did not reaffirm my mortgage loan. I have been paying it diligently since the loan was obtained 5 years ago. I am also getting a divorce. My wife moved out 6 months ago, triggering the need to even file ch 7. This means...

    many questions

I am discharged, and I have decided to abandon or sell the house. I have a few thousand in equity after commission. it would be better for me financially to just stop paying the mortgage, and save up money each month until foreclosure, then go rent a place, then have some money in the bank.

replied to need to purchase a car
was able to get a loan today on a 4 year old car. It was very challenging. when I pulled my credit the only outstanding loan was my student loan, nothing else. no mortgage or car loans. Attorney told me to expect the current vehicle to be repossessed any day, figured since it was about a week post discharge,...

    need to purchase a car

received my discharge a few days ago, and just found out my car will be picked up next week. I've already tried to get qualified, used capital one, and was denied. (I did "burn" them on a credit card, so maybe no matter what I won't get a loan from them.) my only choice may be a co-signor,...

got it. yes, i have both attorneys. The only thing we can do is try to argue against the increased CS, and the medical bills. thats been the plan. I had a thought that maybe she was considered a creditor and that that would be discharged, but I guess I knew the answer all along. Its a discouraging...

thanks. Yes, I used an attorney. She has not filed anything as of yet, but was at the 341 meeting, didn't say anything. the deadline for claims has has passed. (or objections, whichever one comes first, i forget). i'm 30 days out now form a discharge. I figured it would cost me 400 for the 6 years...

medical expenses owed to ex spouse

Curious if any one has any thoughts on this situation- Since filing for CH 7, found out that my first ex feels she is owed back medical expenses for uninsured medical expenses going back to 2011. there is a written agreement for child support, and it included language for each parent to pay 50% of...

I was denied based on the fact that I have to many capital one accounts delinquent. (received a letter) I don't even have any capital one accounts! they must include some subsidiaries that they partner with. even then i have no idea what could be linked to them. i do have 9 accounts delinquent, pending...

    parents inheriting money

My parents will inherit some money, not chump change, but some real money. I'm not the direct beneficiary, however, my parents are. They have implied, not promised or guaranteed (certainly not in writing) , that they will gift me some of this. Just curious if that pseudo promise, if you can call...

  • One thing I'll share form personal experience is that my student loan, about 6.5K when I filed, went into forbarence. However, the interest continues to accrue. Not a surprise to most I would think, but that 6.5 is now over 7k that I owe. I have no hope of paying it. (My wife split and left me holding...

    RV lender filed a motion

So the RV lender filed a motion for relief from the automatic stay, and a hearing is scheduled for what will be about a week after the discharge date. Do I need to attend that hearing? I'm not disputing anything, they are welcome to take the camper. Am I obligated to attend I guess is my questio...
