Anyone have firsthand experience with qualifying for FHA Mortgage after Chapter 7? I'm getting conflicting information.
FHA web site says you can qualify after 2 years but this extends to 3 years if a home was surrendered as part of the filing (3 years must pass from the date of foreclosure...

Bought new home after BK. Previous mortgage included in bankruptcy. It can be done!
I'm posting this in hope someone else can be helped by my experience.
I searched high and low and could find no known instances of someone purchasing a new home while simply walking from a previous home which mortgage was discharged under a prior Chpt 7.

Anyone know of a good solid mortgage broker that deals with FHA loans and that do manual underwriting? I am a pretty solid loan at this point, certainly better off than I was when I bought it the first time but of course the BK looms!
