Question for those that have filled out schedule J

I'm really trying to figure out how our expenses fit on this. I understand all of the categories that they've listed. I don't understand where you put expenses that are not listed. Examples: diapers, necessary toiletries like toliet paper, shampoo, tampons. Household stuff like dish soap, sponges, laundry detergent?

Diapers alone add up to $35 a month and the other stuff is small but it adds up too. Maybe $30-40 a month.

    1. Do you just not get to add it if there is no place for it on schedule J?

2.I did notice one "Other" at the end of the list.. Would everything that had no place go under that or is that for something else?

3.Would Christmas/birthday gifts go under Recreation or do you not get to count that expense either?

    Thanks!!

Laundry supplies go on Line 6 with Laundry and Dry Cleaning expenses.

Personal care items, hair care, baby supplies, school supplies/fees/lunches, work lunches and such go on the "Other Expenses" on Line 17. You can just say "See Detailed Expense Attachment" on that line and add an extra page.

The extra page, you'd break down the listing of your "Other Utilities" from Line 2 Section d, and Other Expenses from Line 17. Other utilities would be things like your cell phone bill, cable, trash, water softener, internet, etc.

When we went over our budget expenses, we did include an amount for gifts. But when our attny filed our Sched J, he did not include a notation for "Gifts" anywhere in our budget. I guess it's one of those "area dependent" types of expenses. In looking at other people's filings in our area, I haven't seen "Gifts" listed on any Schedule J.
