    Lates for Credit Bureau

Does anyone know when payments are considered late and reported to the credit bureau? I ask because I bought a car and they told me my due date was one thing but my payment book I just received says something totally different. So according to my payment book it is due on the 12th of each month but I'm paying it on the 30th. So can they report me as being 30 days late if it was actually only 18 days late? Please help I can't afford a late pay on my credit reports. The rep at the bank said he doesn't know. I'm thinking they can only report 30+ lates. Help please..........sorry for rambling on, i'm just freaking right now.

From my experience, a 30 day late will show up on the CB. I would try to find out what date your payments are due. That aside, it shouldn't be a big deal to change your due date to whichever you choose. I've changed the due date for an installment loan or CC in order to acomodate my budget. Most creditors will allow a one time due date change.

It will depend on the loan agreements grace period. Most car loans have a 10 to 15 day grace period, so I would suspect a payment being made on the 30th if it was due on the 12th would probably be considered late.

However, you can always call the bank and request that they change your due date.

usually though, if you're late don't they send a report to you saying such~ you know "Pay this bill now or else" ????
but yes HHM is right on most car loans it's 10-15 day GP...
and yes, you can request a change of due date!!
        Son did that~
