Authorize User On Credit Card Problem?

Here is our problem. My wife and I just recently got discharged from our Chap. 7 bankruptcy. Keep in mind that we were never late on any of our credit cards or other debts up until we filed. One of the credit cards that was included in our filing we had put our son on as an authorize user. He ran his credit report recently and found out that creditor was showing up on his report showing 30, 60, 90 days late on that card even though:

    1. He was only put on as an authorize user and was never responsible for that debt.

    2. They should of never reported any of this late as the temporary stay of the bankruptcy was in place in the first place.

    My questions are:

1.Has any one else ever had this kind of problem and how do we get this fixed so his credit is not damage?

    2. Seeing that debt was discharged in our bankruptcy, they can't try to go after him for the debt as he was not the primary account holder?

If any one has any sugestions in solving a problem like this It would be apricietated.

    Thanks

This can EASILY be removed from his credit report. All he has to do is dispute with each CRA as not his account. (i.e. I am disputing this account as it is NOT MINE)

I had many Authorized User accounts removed from my reports (I was AU on hubby's, he was AU on mine). I disputed and they were removed in less than 72 hours - poof! gone! like they never existed!

    Hope this helps!

ETA: If he was only an authorized user, they cannot come after him for the money!

    Congrats on TODAY'S Discharge!!!

Should he notify the CRA's by registrar mail or do this online? We have been told that some of the CRA's like Transunion are very difficult to deal with online.

I did mine online with TransUnion and Experian - TU updated the fastest and was, by far, the easiest.

        I did EQ by mail.

One other quick question. Should the dispute use words like "This account is not mine and I was only an authorized user." or should he not mentioned the words "authorize user". Just want to make sure he knows how to word it correctly to get the best results.

I simply said "this account is not mine". That's all and it was gone in 72 hours - completely wiped away like it was never there.
