My case was discharged last month, so I am keeping a close eye on my credit report. I am using True Credit and pull an updated report every few days. Today I noticed that a store credit card that had a zero balance and was not included in my bankruptcy, showed up as included in my chapter 7 and closed by the grantor. Also, it showed up as deliquent on of the reporting agencies. I am not sure how a card that has had a zero balance for over a year could be deliquent. Is this normal, or do I need to call and try to get this off of my report. I have heard that some creditors will close accounts if they find out you have had a bankruptcy. Do you think that is what has happened? Any and all advice is appreciated...............

Question about my credit report

It is fairly normal, especially for store credit cards, to close accounts after someone files BK. Even though you didn't list the account, odds are a routine audit by the store company found it and thus closed your account.
However, reporting the account delinquent if it has no balance, I believe would be improper. Thus, I would dispute the delinquent entry, you don't really have any grounds to dispute the closing of the account. You may also want to dispute the IIB entry, but I think doing so is 50/50. Strictly speaking any account that "could have" been included in your BK and is dischargeable, gets discharged in a BK.

Thanks for the response. I wonder what would have happened if I had used the card after the discharge. If I had put a balance on it, I wonder if they would have still closed the account or left it alone. I will see about getting the deliquency off of my report. To err is human. To really mess things up, you need a computer.
