Aspire Visa Denial :( [Archive]

My husband tried for an Aspire Visa today and was denied during their 30-sec application process. Will this show up as a credit inquiry. How can I go about rebuilding our credit if we can't get a credit card? Does anyone have any suggestions on a card (secured) that will be guaranteed to get? I looked up and Cross Country Bank secured card, but I'm afraid to try again as I don't want to rack up a lot of inquiries. My husband's FICO on Experian is a 610...
I just don't understand. :(
