Capital One - Called to verify income?

I applied for a capital one card...and was given the 7-10 business days response. That was yesterday afternoon. Today, someone from capital one called asking me to verify my household income. That's all they wanted me to verify. So I hung up with them and then called capital one back to check my application status, and it was still pending.

Has this ever happened to anyone? I've never had a creditor call to verify my information.

I want a capital one card so I can get rid of my First Premier card.

It's not unheard of...especially for online applications, they will often call to at least verify there is a real person on the other end.

I just got my capital one card in the mail yesterday. I don't know if anyone else has had this experience, but apparently capital one is very cautious of fraud.

I have verified at least three times that I am legitimately applying for a credit card. They've left two messages telling me to call them back, and when I do it goes into this automated thing, asking me to input my SSN and other such things. After word it says thank you for verifying your identity.

They also wouldn't let me activate it until I spoke to a woman who asked me to verify myself as being the applicant.

I've never been a victim of fraud, but because my life is full of irony I'll be paying close attention to this card if you catch my drift.

Kudo's to capital one for because cautious.
