    Orchard Bank - Approval Story

We're awaiting discharge. I waited for a few weeks but cannot possibly go much longer without some type of plastic just for rental cars (insurance), airline tickets etc. I figured I'd try for the orchard bank card today and was told I may qualify for the Platinum or Secured Card. I gave it a shot for the Platinum unsecured and was approved despite a foreclosure and bankruptcy.

I just figured I'd tell all of you there is life after bankruptcy. I have not done anything of substance other than make sure one or two accounts that were not even derogatory were moved to IIB on the reports. No negative information has come off.

I will check our FICO scores over the next day or two and post those up.

How soon were people able to get the Hooters card?

Orchard is a good place to start. You'll probably have to pay an annual fee and have a tiny limit of 300-500$, but its lot better than the aspire type ripoff cards out there. As far as hooters go, merrick is an extremely irrational bank in terms of its lending process. You probably want to have your TU/EXP fico scores over 600 before applying, but people with worse scores have still gotten approved while many with better scores have been declined. I was approved for hooters 4 months post bk, but I was declined twice before being approved the 3rd time.
