    Very Important Questions

I talked with my lawyer today over how a collection agency has called my parents. We were going to start the bankruptcy after we see how the divorce was going along. We cannot go back to court until April 5...he says we may not have time to wait that long.

He wants to meet with me Friday to discuss it further and maybe start the bankruptcy now.

Only problem is, I had posted on here about how I had to use a credit card back in December to pay for propane and bills. I had no choice. I was hoping to wait out the 90 days. It's around $800.

Am I going to get in trouble for this - or can I simply pay on it as much as I can..NOT put it in the bankruptcy..and I know they'll close it anyway when they get notice I'm filing bankruptcy. I'll pay on it as long as I can and hopefully pay it off before it's closed.

I just feel so helpless on all this. My soon to be ex has left me in such a financial mess that I'm doing all I can to not lose my mind. We went to court on Friday and he showed himself off so much that my lawyer called him several names later in the day in his office. Told me he now knows why I could never get him to talk over a dissolution....

I just am so stressed...I wanted this bankruptcy to come, but now that I've charged about 30 days ago or so......it may bite me in the butt.

Any advice? I haven't even told my lawyer I did this, for I filled all my bankruptcy paperwork back in September when I filed my divorce. I'm going to have to update dollar amounts and all - I'm wondering how he'll take it when he sees I charged up another $800....

I wish I could just run and hide..........

Probably won't be a big deal, if that's the only CC use you've had for months prior to December.

Because that charge may be inside the 90 day window when you file, chances are, the Creditor will contact your lawyer regarding the $800. You make some sort of deal with the Creditor regarding payment on that portion of your debt. All the rest of your debt will be discharged.

It's cheaper to haggle with your attny and come to some sort of payment agreement than to file an Objection.

Being as it was a necessity,......... Propane for heat,.......... The Creditor might not even bother to haggle.

You're attny can advise you best on what to expect.
