    Selling home prior to filing??

I am selling my home to relocate for a job in another state...We have a contract on it and buyers want to close in February..I am having to use proceeds from house to file the necessary fees. I live in Texas. Is this okay to do? We will file as soon as we close and get the money from the sale.

We sold our house, out of State, in June and filed in September. Same thing. Change of job, forced relocation.

The Trustee did look at the Closing Papers so you'll need to be sure to give your attny a copy of the HUD1 Statement. Our Trustee was looking for profit from the sale. We sold for a bit of a loss.

One thing tho,............. Will you have been a resident of Texas for at least 180 days prior to filing?? That's a requisite.

Also, when you file, you'll have to use your Old State's Exemptions.
