So, I disputed an account clearly IIB not included in IIB. I forget where I even disputed it or when. The information if I remember correctly was showing a balance due which was way over what I owed and I believe the account number had changed due to resale of the account.

I get in the mail today from this bank a letter from the fraud department. It does say it is shown as part of bankruptcy. But, it's a copy of the application and two affirmations. One saying I affirm it was a fraudulent card, or two Affirmation of acceptance of liability. From what my attorney just told me it may be a new tactic. In any case, the wording is obtuse as to what exactly I'm affirming. Acceptance of liability signed after the bankruptcy was closed would typically reaffirm that debt.

    Be afraid...

Interesting tactic. If you want to have some fun, you should find a Consumer lawyer in your area, or possibly contact the National Consumer Law Center. They might be interested in pursuing this as a class action. The only way to hold creditors accountable is if people like us raise these issues.
