    Experian credit score

I filed on 9/27/06, discharged on 01/04/07, closed on 01/17/07. Chapter 7 no asset case that went very smoothly. I

I am starting to rebuild my credit now and so ran an Esperian check on myself yesterday. The results were pretty similar to a TransUnion check that I did last week. Two Sears acct's still are shown as having balances and being open but show me as being current and don't indicate anything derogatory so I think that I will leave them be for now.

US Bank shows 20 months of OK, including Sept of 06, but then has "30" (days late) for October 06, which is after my filing date. November and December are "No Data" and then January of 07 shows "KD" or key derogatory. I disputed the October entry online, stating that US bank shows me as current through September of 06 and that October was after than my filing date and that no payment was required then. Do I have a leg to stand on or is it simply that their reporting is a month or two behind the dates of occurrence? I didn't pay any cc companies after August of 06, which is when I discovered that I was in deep doo doo, but it doesn't seem right for US Bank to put that entry in after the date of my filing for BK.

BOA shows a "30" for both August and September, which is accurate, but I am tempted to dispute this cc based on "no knowledge of the account". I honestly don't know if this was an account that I ever used or knew of, or if it is one that my wife opened it in my name without my knowledge. I only used one cc (not this one) during the past 5 years or so. The CR shows that it's been open since 5/1/99 but there was a 0 balance on this card up until 04/2005, which is after my wife took over the finances (baaad move), after which it rapidly grew. I know that I wasn't using it.

I also sent an email to my mortgage co, Wells Fargo, asking them when I might expect them to begin reporting to the CRA's. They have only had my morgage since purchasing it from WaMu in December of 06 but have managed to scare the crap out of me twice in that time by sending me letters that made it appear that my mortgage was in arrears. The payment is taken directly from checking, has been for many years, and has never been late so I sure would like for them to report that.

Interestingly enough, Esperian shows my Plus Score as being 670 and lists me as being in the "Fair" Credit Category. I haven'y checked any other scores and am unsure as to how valid or important this one is.

I'm not in the market to buy anything or refinance my mortgage so I'm not desperate or obsessed about all of this but I would like to be proactive instead of reactive. Any thoughts or advice will be appreciated.

First off, its "Experian", just fyi. And yes if you filed before the payment was late then you should try to get it corrected. It should show included in bankruptcy, zero balance, never late.

As a general idea its common to dispute every single derogatory item on your credit report as not your account, whether its true or not. Some bad accounts may fall off without a hitch, others will stay as confirmed and you may have to dispute several times to get it all straightened out. Continue disputing and be patient.
