No, I am from Texas, but I know about the nervous part. I think you have probably been through the worst of it, actually getting to the point of doing it. It is fairly easy from here. I take it you have an attorney? In the Northern District of Texas, after filing and if no other paperwork is required that was not filed with the petition (barebones petition filing) then your next step(s) is your 341 meeting and or your post filing debtor education class. You have to take this class to get your discharge.

The 341 meeting 99 times out of a 100 is a snap, mine lasted 15 minutes and that was with the trustee actually interested because of the petition preparer involved. I had already taken my debtor education class and filed my completion certificate with the US Bankruptcy Court's Clerk's Office where I filed my case. All that will be left is waiting for your Discharge to come in the mail (if your District works like mine, we don't have to attend a court hearing to get our Discharge down here.)

Keep your filing number handy, when your case was filed and IF this was the first Bankruptcy case you have filed since the new law went into effect and you were not barred under the old or new law by time limits and proscriptions on filing a case, you have an Order of Relief in effect right now.

That means your creditors cannot contact you for the purpose of attempting to collect any debt owed to them and connected with you either by US Mail, telephone (land or cell,) email, in person or any other method. They may not file a lawsuit against you unless they petition the Bankruptcy Court hearing your case to lift the stay as regards their claim and that is a trial in itself, they may not repossess any property that they may have a lien on unless they receive permission from the Bankruptcy Court, pretty much they have to leave you totally alone.

RELAX, it is NOT as bad as you thought it was going to be AT ALL.
