Assisting the debtor with forms-- Do I sign too?

I do not meet the definition of a "non-attorney petition preparer" (because I am not being paid for my services) but I am helping my partner (who is filling pro se) to fill out her Chapter 7 forms. On the voluntary petition, as well as some subsequent pages, there is a place for the signature of a non-attorney petition preparer as well as a space that says "If more than one person prepared this document, attach additional sheets conforming to the appropriate official form for each person."

I am unsure whether my signature, name, SS#, etc. needs to be included either there (even though I'm not a non-attorney pettition preparer) or should I be attaching a continuation sheet and explaining something like, "I do not meet the definition of a non-attorney petition preparer as defined in 11 U.S.C, section 110, but I assisted the debtor in filling out these forms," and then putting a place for my signature and the date.

If you ask me, it would seem even though I assited her my signature doesn't belong anywhere on the forms, but if anyone knows otherwise I'd appreciate a reply.

    Thanks in advance.

Forgive my thread resurrection, but I think this question needs an answer. I'm sure others have wondered about this.

No, you don't have to sign, since you aren't being compensated for preparing the petition. Only those who get compensated and otherwise qualify as a "bankruptcy petition preparer" should sign.
