    awaiting discharge

Our trustee received our last payment on 1-23-2007. The money was disbursed on 3-1-2007. We got a $637 refund from trustee on 3-16-2007. I am trying to figure out when our lien releases and discharge papers will come. (two cars and a manufactured home which is personal property in Missouri).

    National Data Center info:

    Chapter 13 filed: 6-12-2003
case status: closed-FRP (final report pending)
    case closed: 1-25-2007

    Pacer info:

    filed: 6-12-2003
    confirmed: 10-1-2003
    last filing: 1-29-2007
    no info on discharge

Our lawyer said we could call our lien holders to ask for our lien releases and titles about 30 days after the final disbursement, but I can't imagine them being too cooperative. How long before our discharge and lien releases come in the mail..............anyone have any input?

We want to sell our manufactured home and have a big chunk to put down on a stick built home.

We were paying $1265 a month and it sure feels good not to have to send that kind of money in anymore!

    Congrats!!

I can only imagine your excitement. I am counting down the months. Currently looking to be completed around October of this year. I too am paying off a lien within the 13. Keep us posted on the outcome.

      Yeah!!!!!! Congrats !!!!!

      That is a huge accomplishment!

How does it feel to be debt free?

Was your plan a 100% payback? What was the deal with the refund?

Do you have a savings plan in place?

      Thanks,

Thanks for the pat on the back. It does feel good.

We paid 9.49% to unsecured creditors. Apparently we paid in too much to the trustee. We got a letter in early February 2007 stating that we had sent enough money to the trustee to satisfy our plan, and then I saw a "refund to debtor" amount on our claims register at the National Data Center website and the check came mid March.

Yes we are saving..........401(k) + bank account.

I just talked to the lien holder on our home and they said our title would be released about 30 days after they get the discharge order from the bankruptcy court. I didn't expect them to send it right out, but I get the feeling they are going to hold on to it as long as they can.

I encourage everyone to hold on and get through your chapter 13 as best you can.........it's not forever!

I do have nothing but praise for our trustee though.........he let us abate 2 payments due to illness and he also let us keep a small settlement we got from an accident. We were just upfront when we were in trouble and everything worked out.
