What happens if you move to another state during chapter 13?

Does anybody know if we can move to another state without negatively affecting our bankruptcy? We are 3 months away from completing our payment plan (in July 2007). We plan on moving two months after it is complete (September 2007). While the payment plan will be complete, I do not know if we will have our discharge yet at that point. Will this cause problems with the bankruptcy court, the trustee, or our lawyer if we move before the discharge?

We have already moved across state lines once during our bankruptcy. This was real early on, just after we started making payments. Our lawyer advised us not to move out of state but we did it anyway. That move did not seem to cause any problems, but our lawyer was uneasy about it.

I guess I am worried that they will see that we moved twice, and this will cause suspicion and make them throw out our case, or look for a way to throw it out.

Hopefully moving is not an issue, because I really want to get out of this area we are living in. We moved here to save money to make life easier under the payment plan, but I want out badly. If it is risky to move before discharge, I would stay to make sure I don't screw up the bankruptcy, of course, but I really do want to get out of here asap.

Anybody know if we would be ok to do this or not? Thanks!

Since you are so close to the end, you can probably update our address and keep making your last few payments. in our case, it was a move from HI to LA. We have two more years on our sentence, so we transferred our case, because we would have never been able to go to HI to court, if we had to. It was just easier to transfer here, and deal with a local trustee. As far as transfering goes, it was easy. Just a motion...you shouldn't have to do that though. Just keep everyone update on your address, and there should be no averse affects.
