When does the plan start?

The day it was filed or the day it was confirmed?

Your first payment is due 30 days after you submit your plan and ends after 36 or 60 payments. Confirmation is just when the court agrees to what you submitted, so you could go several months paying your payments without confirmation.

The order is

File Plan
Pay first payment 30 days after filing
341 meeting 30-60 days after filing
Confirmation 30-?? after 341 meeting

It may be slightly different region to region so if you can say where you are filling someone from the area may be able to pipe in to more specifics.

You may want to double check to see if it is 30 days after filing the Plan, or 30 days after filing the Petition. I think you can file the petition, and then you have 15 days to file the Chapter 13 plan. And as far as 1st payment goes, I believe the clock starts running when you file the plan. Thus, you have 30 days to make your first payment from the date you file your Chapter 13 payment plan.

In any event, that means you will probably make 2-3 payments to the trustee before your plan is officially confirmed.
