    RE: Discharged Today! Now what?

Hello all, today it's been 60 days since my 341 meeting! I am well on my way for a new beginning.

I just checked PACER and still has not listed it yet, but also says day 48 of "not assets or distribution" on it. What does that mean?

Does it take several days for the discharge to appear or a week or so. Just wondering.

Lastly, where can I retrieve a copy of my discharge w/o paying a lot of money. I know my lawyer charges a fee b/w 30-40 dollars.

Thanks for all of your help and advice during this stressful time for me as well as alot of people on this forum. I will attempt to keep you all posted during my post-BK.

    Thanks!

I just went to check mine and it says day 47 on mine and my last day for creditor objections is June 4. There ia a some place that tells you your last day for creditors to object on pacer. Does it say today?

Anyway depending on your court it could take a couple weeks for the discharge to kick in, it does'nt very often happen on the exact day. The court will mail your discharge paper to you.

You are only officially discharged when the federal judge signs the discharge papers. Pretty much a formality after the 60 days if there were no objections, but that is the reason it can take some time to show up on Pacer.

Different Courts have different processes for how they handle Discharges and Closings.

Some people here are Discharged and Closed the same day.

Some people, Discharge occurs within a few days to a week. Our Court had a 1 week waiting period. Last day for Objections and Extensions came and went. A week later, our Discharge posted.

For Closing, our Court mandates a 30 day waiting period. If nothing new occurs then the Clerk will Close the case. BUT,.......... All Closings are done at the end of the month. So if your 30 days comes early in a month, you can actually wait nearly 2 months to be Closed.

Really depends on your Court. You can call the Clerk's Office and ask. They'll tell you what to expect.
