New, Meeting With Lawyer Today
Hi everyone.... I'm new to this forum and am meeting with a lawyer today to see about filing Chapter 13 to stave off foreclosure... this past winter things got really slow for our business and we were unable to keep up. At this point we will be able to keep up, but there is no way for us to catch up in the meantime. I'm so nervous and scared... didn't think we'd have to go down this route....it's just so frustrating.. I feel like our hands our tied... we recieved a summons from lawyers for our mortgage company about foreclosure last week, so we really want to move on this now... I am so thankful there are forums like this.. it helps ease my mind. I just hate to be in this position, I feel so powerless.
We have really reined in our expenses at this point, have gotten down to the essentials for the most part (or the things that matter the most). Have streamlined the businesses as much as we can as well as well as looking to build parts of the business too with little capital expenditure....
We need our house... it is the base of our business... I wish we had never purchased a home with as big as mortgage as we have, I knew it.. but my other half just had to have it and I went for it... (we could have settled for a lot less than this, but he was out to prove something and now he is being humbled)... ... luckily the mortgage is only in his name (so he is the only one having to file) but I have my own set of problems. We will deal with those after we get these straightened out..
