I have recently converted froma chapter 13 to a 7. My hearing date is actually going to be on the 25th of June. I converted with the intent to keep my vehicle. I called my attorneys office last week just to find out exactly if we were going to be able to keep it or not. Now, come to find out that it's my responsibility to call the creditor to find out myself. I called, they said I owe 2300.00 of arrerages since the conversion essentially flips back to its original state. Man I'm pissed! Anyhow, If I keep it I have to one come up with the money by the 24th of August, and agree to pay another 33 months of 400.00. What I'm asking is if I dump the vehicle and buy one for like 500.00-1000.00 will that get me in trouble? Also, they still are garnishing my paychecks. This is definitley very unsatisfactory in my book. My attorneys fail to devuldge important info,their still taking my money, and I may be without a vehicle. How in the hell are people supossed to get a clean start, when the system keeps ramming them in the A@!
