    Married, but filed separately...

I filed last week for Ch 7. I am married, but am filing without my husband,
since he isn't an American Citizen and is here in USA on non-immigrant visa. I'm supporting him and it may be a year or more before he is able to work.
A lot of the paperwork says "Husband, Wife, Joint, or Community" for claims and personal property. Do I need to add values for his personal items on the personal property forms, even though I do not own them? Or can I just deduct his things from the total of my things?

    Thanks

Since you are filing yourself only - you do not need to list anything belonging to your spouse unless his name is on it also...... such as a car, home, loan, etc....... you only list things that you own jointly.....

If he has no income, that also will not be listed as part of your bankruptcy, you said you were sole supporter.

He would be listed as non-working spouse, strictly for "family size" for the means test....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
