We have decided to file, have some initial questions (Long)

Do you have a personal Amex card as well?

My husband had a corporate Amex card with zero balance on it when we filed. We did not include it in the bankruptcy. They still cancelled the card! We thought it was because we had a personal card as well. However, I have a coporate Citibank card that was not cancelled (personal one included in BK).

Our attorney warned us when we filed that Amex had a history of closing accounts and that we should be prepared for the worst. Which did happen.

Regarding the 90 day rule. I used and continue to use my corporate Citibank card for business travel. I haven't had any problems - including inquiries from the US Trustee.

If the AMEX card belong to the corporation it is not yours, and should not be listed on your debts. I'm sure the company pays the bills on this card, right?
Be sure to discuss this with your attorney..

As far as moving, since you are surrendering your home, you can move anytime during the BK process or you can wait till the creditor sends you notice to vacate the premises..... this is usually after the 90 objection period is over..... So you really have a 3month playing field there to find a place to live (unless they object and file to have the stay lifted).. A lot of it depends on what the state laws are in your state.

As you consult with attorneys ask these same questions and see what answers you get for them.....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
