Need opinions on what to do.....

Ok, we were told the other day by the attorney that we would have 30 months left on the chapter 13 unless we surrendered our vehicle, which is a full size (gas guzzler) SUV, with over 200,000 miles on it now. If we do that we would have approximately 7 pyments left. My concern is that if we do that would it show as as a repossession on our credit or just part of the bankruptcy?

What would you do? The vehicle is pretty much on it's last legs.

This is what the National Data Center has so far listed:

    Date Petition Filed 12/29/2004
    Date Plan Filed 1/7/2005
    First 341 Meeting Date 2/16/2005
    Date Case Confirmed 3/16/2005
    Date Case Closed N/A

Generally speaking, vehicles surrendered in BK don't show as a repo on your Credit Reports.

Personally,.......... If you can make due for transportation until you complete your Ch 13 Plan Payments, I'd surrender the car and get out early.

Very few of us have had any trouble getting a car post Discharge. And the rates haven't been atrocious either.
    Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
    Discharged - 12/2006
Officially Declared No Asset - 03/2007
    Closed - 04/2007

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.
