Hi-
I will be filing a personal bankrupty this week. I printed out a free bankruptcy form so I can have all my personal information ready to give to my attorney.
My concern is that I am unemployed and my live-in boyfriend basically pays all the bills and supports me for the time being. I read on some web site that it is very important for me to list his income or bill support somewhere in my bankruptcy. Otherwise, it could be thrown out by the court since they obviously know I cant survive without support by someone.
I was told by one attorney to list my boyfriend's income in Schedule I under "INCOME NOTES" and just put "$0" in all the fields on Schedule J (rent, utility bills, etc). I was told by another attorney to list all my normal living expenses on Schedule J (and put $ values in them - basically what our monthly bills cost that my boyfriend is paying) and on Schedule I under "other income" list the amount the live-in partner contributes to pay these bills. This will balance out Schedule I and J of your bankruptcy petition to most likely a balance of $0.00. So one attorney suggests I list my bills as "$0" and the other suggests I list the actual amounts of the bills, so I am confused. What is the correct option?
I obviously want to make sure I am giving the information correctly!
Thanks in advance,
nicole
