How quick do creditors find out about your BK petition?

Good afternoon folks, thanks for all of your help.
I have a question. How soon after you file you bankruptcy petition do the creditors find out about you filing? Do they get notice in the mail or electronically?

Also, how do I know for sure that each creditor even got or acknowldged the notice sent to them?

Most of it is done electronically, especially with the big banks.. It really doesn't take long at all for them to find out, unless it is a small collections office and receives the filings by mail.

You'll know they got notified if those phone calls/bills/letters stopped. Mine stopped IMMEDIATELY upon filing. All of them.

The Large Creditors find out fairly quickly...smaller ones could take a week.
