If you are not working and receive survival money from relatives etc.....
It can be considered post-petition debt, which is a no-no!
Or it can be considered a gift, which can be taken by the trustee if it's within 180 days after filing.

Not true...

Post petition gifts are not reportable after filing because they would not be property of the estate. The only things a debtor needs to report after filing is (1) if someone dies and leaves them something, i.e. inheritance, bequests, or life insurance proceeds, (2) they get or finalize a divorce, within 180 days of filing. (section 541 (a)(5) ).
