Hello folks, thanks for all of your help. I have a question. Do you cut up and destroy your credit cards? Do you turn them back in to the credit card companies? Do you hand them to the trustee? Thanks for your great help.

No, you certainly don't give them to the trustee. I would hold on to them until you receive word that they are cancelled and your account is closed due to the bk.
If the card is not included in the bk, I would hold onto them, as you may get lucky and they won't close them. I got to keep 4 of mine, believe it or not.
Anything that has a balance, you might as well throw out and cut up, as they definitely will close the account.Filed Business Chapter 7: 7/11/07

Same with me. And mine were all cancelled even WAY prior to my filing BK. I had literally bottomed out.Originally posted by demismom View PostI still have all of mine - but they're ALL canceled and that's fine by me!

We had a CC cut up party one day. That's what we decided to do with the CC's we were including in BK.
As HHM mentioned, some Trustees do ask at the 341 if you have destroyed your CC's. Ours didn't but others here have reported that their Trustee did ask that question.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
