I have a Kohl's card that didn't have a balance on it or anything and about a month ago, I charged about $200 onto it. My child needed fall/winter clothing and I needed a few items for work as well. I have paid 1/2 of the balance already (I had every intention of paying it, I just didn't have the cash I needed when it got cold and my daughter needed long pants and shirts - she's only 2 so she's growing a lot and nothing from last year would still fit). I will be able to pay the remaining portion of the balance this week. I plan to file a ch 7 in 3-4 weeks time, will the fact that I used a cc so close to filing affect my ability to file, even if it is paid off?

It will have no effect on your filing at all. It was used for necessary purchases. The only time it really is brought into question is if one is used for very large amounts or for non-necessary goods such as luxury items so close to filing. We had to use one of our just a few weeks prior to filing for medical reasons. But try not to use it anymore just to be safe other than that you are just fine. Have no worries."Try to save money. Someday it may be valuable again." - Anonymous
