    Allowable???

Are non-covered (by insurance) health costs allowable within the expenses calculation in the means test?
If someone is overly "fluffy" - 300 lbs. or more and signs up for one of those weight loss programs as always advertised on TV, plan cost, special foods, etc. While food expenses probably will be allowed, how about the actual cost of the plan?
Losing weight is a health issue but no insurance co. will foot the costs. Are bankruptcy trustees cold-hearted towards this issue as well and not allow the expense?

Not really sure they will allow this in the budget..........an attorney can tell you for sure.

Trustee may tell your to "eat lots of fruits and vegs" and not allow the $300.00 that these TV advertizers charge...........

You are allowed so much for food/clothing, essentials. If its just you involved you could cut back in one area to support the program.

Are you on this program now? He's surely to ask that!!!

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

Actually, check with your insurance carrier. My company's insurance gives us a discount for Weight Watchers. While they don't foot the bill it helps that it's not as costly. Plus, if it's a health issue, that may warrant a discount also. Or check with your local hospital. I know several around me that offer weight-loss plans. But if neither works out, I would just do as the pp said-cut back on other areas. They pad the budget anyway, so why not take from one area, like clothing where you may not buy anything for several months and put it towards the food plan.
