Once upon a time there was a husband who disobeyed his wife. He went to a state car aution and bought a vehicle with money they were desperately trying to save. He even went as far as to pay $1000 for the vehicle and since he only had 500, he borrowed the rest from his friend. On his way home, he called his very unhappy wife. She soon got over it when she realized that at least he bought something that could transport their two lovely children. (Wife has a minivan but husband only has a work van and it only has two bucket seats!)
After the wife's initial screaming and yelling, things settled down.
Here is the lovely old state conservation vehicle we bought. The nicest/newest part of it is the shiny new front bumper. Isn't it pretty?

A week later while the husband and wife were on the way to a costume/halloween party, one of the children in the back was fussing (his halloween mask kept coming off) After listening to the whining the wife said, "honey, drive careful, I'm gonna unbuckly real fast and fix his mask". The wife half-hazardly fixed the mask and resumed to her seatbelted position. In that instant she knocked over the diaper bag and began to pick things up and put them back in the bag. Just then there was a big "bump" and she shrieked, "Did we blow a tire!?"
"No," the husband screamed, "It was a ggkj dfkasf fjkfaj DEER" The wife then looked in the rearview mirror to see a deer flop a few times on the road before resting in it's final position. She checked the kids to make sure they were okay and they were all fine and not even making a peep. "Thank God" she thought.
The husband then pulled over and assessed(sp?) the damage.

I don't think I've heard that many cuss words in that short amount of time. LOL
My husband says we were lucky we weren't in the minivan. I told him, "no, I wouldn't say lucky.... more like blessed". It turns out we hit the deer and then "ramped" it - thus causing me to think the tire blew due to the dropping back down off of the deer. Eeew. A gentleman that lived across the street helped my DH pull the deer off the road. The vehicle still runs perfectly fine. Just the bumper and grill are messed up. We only had the vehicle for a week.
Poor DH. It could be worse, but I can't help but think that it's just another thing for our money to disappear to. <sighs>
Still, I think it's kind of ironic that this very vehicle spent most of it's life protecting wildlife only to end up taking out a deer.
