As most of you know some parts of the US are under a severe water shortage.... places like Atlanta (their supply is almost dry), Tennessee, Kentucky, and South Carolina, and other places in Georgia.
My area is one of the areas under the severe water shortage. The river has gone dry, the water table is below the dam, and we are using generators everyday to pump as much as we can out of the dam.
We are under extreme restrictions, 20% cut-back mode per household, and severe fines for "wasting water".
YET EVERYDAY, we catch people washing driveways, washing cars, cleaning out pools etc..... Many will NOT repair leaks they have on their water lines.
SOOOOOOOOOOOO......... they are fined $250 per incident, loose their water service till further notice, and can spend up to one year in jail.
DON'T THEY GET THE MESSAGE................no water available to them thru the water lines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just because there is a lake 20 miles down the road, doesn't mean we have access to it!!! Cost a fortune to run those kinds of lines.... and most of John Q public doesn't want to pay for it..
SO FOLKS - IF YOUR IN A DROUGHT AREA - AND WANT "DRINKING WATER" - you better "CONSERVE"!!!!!!!!
It may come to the point where you will only get water on certain days, every other day, etc. One place in Tenn is already doing just that. Customers get water 3 hrs every day at a certain time. Otherwise its ALL TURNED OFF. They are trucking it into their resevoir now.....
Same situtation with the gasoline prices........... keep using more and more, and the prices will keep going up........... THEY LOVE MAKING MONEY...........
