Sale of land and homestead exemption

I had a lot that was seized by the ch7 trustee and sold. I had timely filed a homestead exemption for $3k.
Could I now file a motion to claim refund of the $3k from the sale?

I believe you could ony if you lived on the lot. If it was your primary residence, the homestead exemption applies. If not, no exemption.

That's my understanding of it anyway.
