Post BK - Want to get new job but...

In sales and have had use outright of a company car for the last 2 years. Now I want to switch jobs - need to - to a similar sales job. However I think the company I'd be selling for would only give me a car allowance or something. Say like $300 mo. or $.50 mile or who knows what... Are there any other sales people in here that have had to face this issue? During the interview/negotiations I dread that I may have to discuss my credit history and why I can't simply go out a lease a vehicle. Maybe I can just go out a lease a vehicle. Any tips or experience here?

you can probably lease a vehicle if you're post-bk, but it may not be cheap w/ interest.

Car dealers are desperate these days. With the housing crash, the car bubble also seems to have burst. Dealers will tell you that there's plenty of credit but no one is buying.

Could also look into financing a used car as well. Try and get the .505/mile rate (new IRS mileage calculation), if you drive a fuel-efficient vehicle, you're coming ahead. End of year is timely for a gas price hike

Thanks - I am negotiating a signing bonus against my draw for a down payment on a used car. I put on too many miles for a lease. I will get that $.505 cents/mi but I'm not sure if the banks care. Do they?

I was shopping and one nice car salesmen humbled me to show me what I realistically needed to be driving to stay in budget, get approved, etc. Depressing. It shouldn't be - I should be happy with anything really...

lastly - the big loanhouses are not approving due to ex getting my car in the settlement - which she blew off payments on and had repoed. So I got that going for me...
