Why does it take 60 - 90 days to file. If I give the attorney all my information and pay up front day 1, and the filing to the courts are done electronically - why does it take 60-90 days to file to the courts?

It doesn't. Is that what your attorney said?
My attorney said he could file one week after we paid him. We ended up waiting, for personal reasons, but a friend of mine used the same attorney and filed a week or two after he paid him the money.
One reason he is waiting MIGHT be that he is afraid you used a credit card in the 60-90 days before filing, and that might cause an objection to be filed from the creditor. However, IF you can be SURE you did not use a card 60-90 days before filing, and didn't take out any BIG balance transfers or cash advances 90-180 days before filing, then there is NO reason not to file immediately, as far as I can see.
But take this with a grain of salt, I am not an attorney nor do I play one on tv.<<I am NOT an attorney, my comments are anecdotal only. Contact an attorney for advice>>

Interesting - I know a few of his questions were if I took out any cards or debt so you are correct, he might be waiting. I know they are filing up to 100/month so I am sure I am in a waiting pile.
All I can do is stay on them every week and pester them. Perhaps they will get tired of me and push it through (faster)..Filed: 01/23/08
