    chapt 7 questions

    1. If a debt is non dischargeable (like govt backed student loan) do you still list it on petition?

    2. It is my understanding that there is a way to dischage old tax bills (IRS & State tax) if they were filed time & they are over 3 years old - is this correct - if so, what do you do on the petition? Will they still be listed as priority and if so - will they definitely be discharged in a 7?

    3. If you have a number of debts that have already been assigned to a collection agency - who do you give notice to - the creditor, the agency or both

    4. Is there a law limit on a debt you can not list - I have in excess of 30 k in debt - but 10 creditors are very small $25 - $100 - do I just them anyway?

    5. Can I discharge an $86.00 parking ticket?

Anyone that can offer some help - it would be so appreciated. G

    1. Yes
    2. Speak to an attorney about this; yes it is true, but there are a few more requirments, (1) you must have filed the tax return, (2) and the debt must not have gone to Tax Levy.
    3. Both
    4. No
    5. Probably not.

Thank you - 1 follow up

      Thank you

With respect to the IRS - if it is listed (and all of the conditions for discharge are met - timely/no levy) - is it any different than any other debtor - or can they challenge it?
