My 341 is Thursday but I turned my totalled van into State Farm last Thursday and they cut me a check for $3268. I'd stated on my filing that it was worth around $1000 as I had it as "Fair" condition since it was a 1992 with scrapes, scratches, rust, & dings and that was the KBB wholesale price. The lady at State Farm priced it out as "Excellent" since she'd expect a '92 to have those things and used the Retail value plus license and tax.
I'm not looking to buy right away with the craziness of the holidays but wondering how likely it is the Trustee will take the check. I haven't done anything with it except for put it in my file until after the 341. Illinois allows $2500 exempt for vehicles but do you think the Trustee will take all of it? I know not to mention it unless he asks, though.
