led down the wrong path by attorney maybe

back in april of 2006, attorney from legal helpers filed a chapter 13 in my behalf. my total income annually is 30,000 well below the nj average for one. i am 73 years old and had approximately 50k in unsecured debt. no assets whatsoever. socail security makes up about 90 percent of my income. attorney put me in a 3 year payback of $560.00 for 3 years. medical and ental expenses are now putting me in a position where the payment is killing me. contacted attorney 10 days ago, to date no response, i might add that i obtained attorney in june 2005 and took him till april 2006 to file for me, do i have any chance of converting to a 7

find another attorney to do the conversion. I do not know anything about NJ etc or the specifics of why the attorney felt you needed a chapter 13 but I would be getting another attorney here quick to see if conversion is indeed a possiblity.
