I received my Chapter 7 discharge order last week stating that alll my debts had been discharged. I asked my attorney to send me a copy of the petition and the discharge order so I could keep a record of them. Well, when I was reviewing the petition I noticed my attorney evidently made a typeo. Instead of listing a debt in the amount of $14,000 she listed it as $1400 (she knew that it was a high amount because the day I was signing the petition I told her that the amount had changed from the $12,000 that she had listed at the time). As you would expect I'm a little on the worried side now, and of course it is Saturday and I can't get in contact with anyone at the office. So what do you guys think, is this something to be worried about??

Oh, Babygirl, how I know your pain. My attorney completely messed up my BK case which resulted in a judgment being entered against me. So now I have a judgment on my credit report in addition to the BK. Had I known what a shotty job he was going to do, I would have done it on my own for $350 as opposed to paying him $800! At least your problem isn't so terrible.

Florida girl - I will find out tomorrow if my attorney messed up my case too. We got a motion to delay the discharge because of paperwork the trustee said they didnt get. Our 341 was May 2. They asked for additional documentation by May 4. Our discharge date was 7/1. We received the aforementioned letter from the court dated 6/30. I cant understand why it took nearly 2 months to realize we hadnt sent them all the paperwork they asked for. So much for the 30 day trustee and the 30 day creditor schedule. They didnt even say on the petition what paperwork we didnt send. All my lawyer could say was they do this all the time and for me not to stress and in the same breath told me I was driving him crazy worrying. Easy for him to say it isnt happening to him. I wish it was. I know I included the "big" stuff...i.e., house deed, bills of sale for cars, check stubs, tuition receipts and bank statements so I have no clue what they didnt get. I will find out tomorrow no matter what. I checked Pacer but I keep getting an error message. It is a local thing apparently.
