Question regarding an extended warranty

Hey folks canI purchase a 5 year bumper to bumper vehicle warranty on my car before filing bankruptcy to help protect us from unseen costs that may or may not happen in our chapter 13 plan? Or will the trustee object to it. Trying to take care of necessary business before filing.

I bought one just make sure it is 90-120 days out of you filing I think that will be ok I havent filed yet but plan on doing so soon!

Unfortunately I am filing next week and will be buying the warranty next week as well. I guess the trustee will question this purchase.

If you are financing or paying for the extended warranty with credit, I would be a bit cautious. If you are paying cash for the warranty, I see no way of trustee knowing what you spent the money for. They do not look at your cash transactions, only recent debt acquired.

Yes I am planning on paying cash (50% down) and the rest in monthly payment. I found Bumper to Bumper warranty with a company called auto warranty repair and they quoted me 1,099.00 for 60 additional months or 100,000 miles....which will take me nicely through Chapter 13.
