I've searched but not found an answer to my situation/question.
My wife & I filed Chapter 7 in Dec. 2007. The trustee stated at our 341 and again via a letter that she wants any 2007 tax refund (no exemption in my state).
I just filed our 2007 tax docs this weekend. We owe the Feds but expect a state refund (larger than what we owe the Feds). Has anyone else been in a similar situation? What happened?
It seems ridiculous that the trustee can take our large state refund, while we have to scramble to come up with money to pay the Feds.
Attorney is MIA so I was hoping to get this forum's advice - while I try to track her down.
