Big AOL article on 23 retail giants closing as well as big brands dissapearing

I think we all knew this would be the trickle down effect; consumers can't shop without those credit cards...and with all the bankruptcies, there's a lot less credit extended...check out the articles on AOL right now money.aol.com, main page....

My Razor is getting bought out by LG....I guess I'll put it away for an antique soon...

Thanks good article! The sad part about all this is...it's really only the beginning! Everyone, and everything has begun or will start to realign thier budget/finances throughout the course of the year. And the impact will be very steep on the economy!! The sad reality of it all is...much of this was very preventable.

And with all this comes more job losses, more bankruptcy's, and more foreclosures because folks can't make ends meet.

A viscious cycle with no end to it.

Sad situation all the way around.

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

Exactly! And a lot of times as to not to file bk, people say work two jobs, three jobs...well, the jobs just aren't availble that easy to do that anymore...I start my film festival job on March 15th and told them to give me all the hours they can! I work a couple of hours a week after work for one of my unit owners who need assistance, I'm doing a spur of the moment babysitting gig tomorrow for 3 hours before I go out to a club... I figure, while season is here in FL and my people need help & will pay, I better go for it!

I read it this morning. Maybe this will give people a clue that times are hard everywhere.

          And LG has great phones.

I just don't understand why Bush thinks the "stimulus" package he instituted is going to help the economy transition out of a recession. It didn't work back in eight years ago, so why would it work now? lol

I don't remember it then, I was involved in other things but, now, I won't even get my stimulus check as I owe the IRS ( and I believe they will apply it to my debt, just like they did with my 2007 refund), so I won't be any help to the economy this year...

Just went back to AOL money and they said 63,000 jobs were slashed in February...damn@!

Right on! I think I will take any extra work that's offered to me before this season is over and my snowbirds return to the north; it's not looking pretty...we've had a number of restaurant closings through out Sarasota...during SEASON!...and that's not a good sign either...we have a lot of disposable income here...

It pays to have a job in an industry that is still going strong, healthcare.

My mother and sister worked most of their lives in health care and all they could find were minimum wage and slightly higher than minimum wage jobs. (My mother was an RN) To be a "real" nurse or doctor, you needed to basically make that commitment in high school, and a lot of us are not so talented with math or chemistry. I know if someone suggested nursing to me as a job, I would have laughed my head off.
