Back From My 341!!!

OK guys I know you wanted to know how it went.
There were only 3 other people there so I didn't feel so embarrassed. I never felt so sick in my life!
He only asked a few questions

1.State your name
2.State your address
3.Did you read the trustees letter?
4.Is everything you filled out correct?
5.Do you have any questions?
6. Did you file a tax refund?
7. Did you get a refund?
(I filed a homestead deed so I could keep mine)
8. What did you spend your refund on?
9. Is your employment still the same as when you filed
And that was pretty much it! It was the longest 10 minutes of my life! But it's done!!!!
I'm glad I didn't get a lawyer, the one that was there was an idiot! After him and his clients left, the trustee said "Some lawyers just aren't with it this morning!" lol
The Trustee also asked me if I had anything rings,necklaces, anything, and then when I told him no, he said he knew it had to be hard on me only making 240.00 a month. It was almost like he felt sorry for me. So he wasn't a jerk! I'm officially a member of the 60 day club guys!!

I'm glad it went well for you but... what an a** to ask you if you had rings, necklaces or anything. That to me is kicking someone when they are down...did he really think you had a diamond ring, stacks of gold and other treasures stuffed in your pockets? If you are like the rest of us...you are scrimping and scraping at the grocery store! With all of that said...I am happy you came thru it unscathed. Congratulations!

Great news. My 341 hearing was on 3/5 and it was even quicker than yours. I was asked 3 questions: was my address still the same, have I filed before and had I owned a home within the last 3 years (I haven't). I was SO prepared with every stitch of paper I thought I might need, all the my filings neatly organized in flip file with legal tabs, the whole gamut. But I never had to take a thing out. And to think I was going to pay an attorney $1500 to file for me!

I checked online today and the docket says that the Trustee has waived filing of documents required in 521(a)(1)(B)(iv) (pay stubs). I sent them with my original petition but they were returned to me. I brought them to the 341 but was never asked for them so I guess they decided they didn't need to keep a copy of those documents.

I still need to pay the remainder of my filing fee and then the last day for anyone to file any protests is 5/5 and I guess then I'll be discharged.

This whole process has been a love/hate relationship. I'm glad the option was available but I wish my creditors could have worked with me to keep this from happening. Sad, sad.
