Hi All,
Met with attorney yesterday, he was very thorough and professional. We should have him paid in a month or so and then we can file.
Made a 400 down payment all calls will be forwarded to them, very glad to get the process rolling.

yes when those calls stop its great..
mine rang every nine minutes for a long time
it was horrible.
still waiting for discharge papers but hopefully its over for good !

I was so focused on getting the attny. totally paid so we could file; after I dropped off the first payment and the secretary said they were officially "retained" and I could refer all creditors to them I almost cried!! It was such a joy to say those magic words, "let me refer you to my attorney"!!
Our only stress now is getting the petition filed before Friday, when there is a Chase lawsuit scheduled...even if it's after Friday she said it takes time to get a judgment and garnishment, but I don't want to even appear.Good luck to all of you!

we too had 4 chase pending lawsuits and i was so scared !
that is what made us throw in the towel and call for help
i never was so scared in my life and then when the lawyer helped us and said even if you go to court anything that happens will be wiped out IF it even gets that far, so no worries it was just great !
i know how good it feels to give the creditors the bankruptcy info !

we'r being sued by chase bank too , does anybody know a good and cheap attorney in south calif who will take payments and take care of the creditors calls?

Congtrats, Bikeralan! I just retained mine last week after talking to a few. Now I have a large package of papers to fill out. It is good to have someone answering questions!

We have a chase CC we haven't paid on since Dec and so far we're just getting the normal delinquency letters. I'm sure they'll be REAL happy when we start referring to our atty next week
