    Providing tax returns in BK

Do they pull your tax returns directly from the IRS or do they just accept the copies that you provide them with as the last word?

They have every right to request a tax transcript directly from the IRS, and will, if they suspect you are not being forthcoming.

I was told to have copies at the 341 yet nobody took them. Now I just found out the US Trustee wants my 2006 - 2007 taxes. Have at it reviewing the 50+ pages of gobbly-gook.

Geez this is a tough choice. File taxes for the sake of BK and be in debt $30k to the IRS, or don't file taxes and be in debt $30k to Bank of America. For some reason being in debt to BoA seems like a less scary option.

The only way completely out of it for me is to provide returns in BK that I actually never filed with the IRS or file with the IRS a $7k self-employment income and be off by $40k. I guess I'm pretty well screwed when my two options are either BK fraud or tax fraud.
