Our government won't help people keep their homes but I know someone who was in debt with their home by 350k, sold it for 250k and the bank accepted this and forgave the 100k. When we asked how that was possible, how they weren't liable for the extra 100k, we were told that the government picked up the loss for the bank though some new program out to help the banks.
So our government is helping the big banks, but not us. Mind you, I have no proof. Only the word of these people I know who are on their way to a new state to start a new life. But feel free to do the research.
